About Samunda
Samunda Jabini is an experienced community development professional with a strong background in research, human rights advocacy, climate change, environmental and cultural conservation, and gender and youth engagement. Her background in sociology and multilingual communication laid a strong foundation for her leadership in programs that uplift the Saamaka community, especially its youth and women in conservation. Samunda has a track record of successfully supporting sustainable practices in Indigenous and tribal people’s communities and bridging interaction between diverse local, regional, and international groups. She is committed to ongoing growth via networking and capacity-building initiatives. Her future plans to launch a consulting firm that promotes environmental sustainability, engages young people in climate action, and protects cultural heritage are exciting and promising.
